Containing the Gulf of Mexico's oil spill 
got the rite idea but going about it all wrong .a tube in the pipe is a good idea but with out a seal it is no good .need a pipe that has a inflatable part on the pipe that will inflate not air but some other that will stop the flow . but that is just me just another oil field worker.use the same thing that is used to stop a leak down hole a sleeve to stop the leak .
also there is a microbe that eats oil. don’t know the name.
multi-plasmid hydrocarbon-degrading pseudomonas.that is the name
